Average Momma: Spoiled

This Christmas season Mark and I were absolutely spoiled (by everyone) by ourselves. We went out and made the ~~big~~ BIG investment on a brand new camera! We have done a lot of research on cameras in the past year leading up to PJ`s birth. We knew that once we had our little one we wouldn`t be happy with our old point and shoot camera. Our old camera had run its course...it no longer zoomed in or out and took a good minute to take a picture. Although annoying, waiting a minute when you are adults is doable...but trying to catch a baby`s smile, laugh, yawn, open eyes, etc in a full minute is impossible. PJ is 3 months old now and I was getting more and more frustrated with the pictures I was getting of her (I know...my life is hard, isn't it?). All of my pictures were coming out blurry or with extreme red eye (think demon child). I finally succeeded in convincing Mark that a new camera would be instrumental in my life goals of being a scrapbooker, documenting our family life, and of being happy (drama queen much?). In all reality Mark is a super husband who rarely (ever?) says no to me...which, I promise, I don't take advantage of! So on Boxing Day we were up early (stayed up late Christmas Day) and we purchased a new Canon T3i from Best Buy. It was a really good deal so we were able to also purchase an extra lens (50mm) which is good for potrait shots. I am not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination...but I am SO excited to learn and start capturing more true pictures of my darling PJ (and the rest of my family too!). My sister (the one upstairs) just recently purchased a book about my camera too...so I am sure I will be able to learn from her and probably borrow her book. So excited to capture some of PJ's smiles and giggles as she grows and learns new things!
Here are a few of my first attempts. :) I still have lots to learn but these pictures are already MUCH better than what I have been able to achieve prior to this!
