We moved into our new house this past July. It is an old(er) townhouse in the city of Guelph. It actually is the first condominium that was built in Centre Wellington! I pretty much fell in love right away. Its a town house but (I think) it has character. The neighbourhood felt cozy and was very close to a lot of amenities (I can walk to get groceries!). The house was in pretty good shape - it just needed a little bit of paint and some other little touch-ups. We have been busy and we are getting things done slowly but surely. Pj's room was finished at the end of Summer and in September we worked on the living room (new tv stand, curtains up, etc). This past weekend we updated the light fixtures in the dining room and kitchen. Yay! The old kitchen light fixture used to be white but had turned yellow with grease, smoke, and age. The dining room light fixture was small and didn't give off good light. It was definitely not a statement piece;)! Here is a picture of my dining room (I really should say dining space as its just an extension of our living area). Its is coming along - we still need to hang up our wedding text barn board sign, get some bar stools (another DIY perhaps?!), paint the wooden counter top white, and paint the ceiling around the new light fixture (and I am sure I will think of a couple more things!).
Hmmm, kind of looks a little boring! But that light fixture - what a beaut! :) I think the room will look a little better once that sign is up! No matter what, its a wonderful place for us to sit and enjoy our family dinners :) (homemade by me of course;) hehe).
