Today, after the children's program at the library, we went to Len's Mill Store! I love walking through the aisles upon aisles of fabric in this store. If its wasn't for my lovely daughter inch-worming her way through the aisles behind me (yup, that's right, on her belly and everything) or checking the taste of different fabrics (she appears to be in a "lick everything" phase - this is one phase that I hope ends soon...preferably without a disease!) I could have spent hours there. I went because I had found a long forgotten gift card which I thought I could put to use in picking up some fabric for Big C's nursery. As it was, I forgot the gift card at home, but I still purchased some beautiful fabric.
Isn't that just delicious?! I am making Big C a quilt/blanket for his crib (I made lots of blankets for Pj before she was born...I'm feeling a little guilty that this is Big C's first blanket and he is 3.5 months old!). I am also making a triangle banner (trendy aren't I?) with his name to hang over his crib. And of course, I will attempt to make some sort of curtain and pillow covers to pull everything together. I am loving the bright and fun colours! Mark and I are hoping to paint his nursery this weekend - I think that this is a lovely way to spend a long weekend (Mark might disagree...) And then hopefully I'll be able to finish up the room (hang everything, paint a book shelf, unpack some toys, etc) by the end of the month - we'll see if I am dreaming about this timeline! My big hope is that by some point in November Big C will be sleeping in his own room. I'm ready to start getting a more solid night of sleep without waking up from his random gurgles and snorts. He is a LOUD sleeper! Better pull out my sewing machine and get started in order to make this transition a reality!
